Dear Potential Sponsor,

BQMRA is a not-for-profit organization consisting primarily of Central Ohio families. The drivers are boys and girls ages 5 to 16. The parents are the teams’ managers and crew chiefs. The club was formed in early 1957 and has been racing at various sites locally virtually nonstop since its inception.

A Quarter Midget is a real race car.  It is a scaled down version of an open wheel midget or sprint car. The engines are single cylinder Honda or Briggs & Stratton that can produce as much as 14,000 RPM & 14+ horsepower in the modified classes. This translates to speeds in excess of 50 mph and lap times in the five to six second range in the top classes. The drivers of these full throttle racing machines are young kids, but don’t let their youth fool you. Many of today’s racing stars got their start behind the wheel of a Quarter Midget. Some of them are: Daytona 500 Champions Ryan Newman & Joey Logano, past NASCAR Champions Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte, as well as Ohio natives Dave Blaney, Ryan Blaney and Sara Fisher.

BQMRA has been racing at the former site of the Columbus Motor Speedway grounds since the summer of 1965. Prior to that, the club raced at many venues throughout the Columbus area.

BQMRA is primarily funded through membership fees, race entry fees and sponsor donations. As a sponsor, your company will have visibility during the BQMRA Outdoor season, which consists of approximately 12-14 races located at our home track.

Please take a few moments to consider becoming a sponsor for the Buckeye Quarter Midget Racing Association. Should you have any additional questions, please contact us via email at president@bqmra.com.

Thank you for your consideration,

Buckeye Quarter Midget Members
